Can VisitPing run on a different computer than Open Dental's database?

Yes. VisitPing can run on any Windows 10, 11 or Server 2016 (and newer) computer on the office network that can reach Open Dental's database. Most offices put it on the Open Dental server itself, because then the schedule never crosses the network.

When the database is on another computer, Settings › Open Dental connection shows whether the link is encrypted, and can make the files that turn encryption on. See Is the connection to Open Dental's database encrypted?.
