Is the connection to Open Dental's database encrypted?

Updated October 29, 2026 · VisitPing 3.3.2

When the database is on the same server as VisitPing, the schedule never crosses the network. When it's on another computer, Settings › Security shows whether the link is encrypted.

If it isn't, Settings › Open Dental connection has Make the files for the database server. Run Turn on encryption.bat from that folder on the database server, after hours. It checks everything first, asks you to type YES, saves a copy of the database's settings, and puts them back by itself if the database doesn't answer within 90 seconds. Undo encryption.bat takes it out again.
