Can we change how fast alerts come and how long they stay?

Updated October 31, 2026 · VisitPing 3.6.1

Yes. An admin can change them in Global settings › Alerts › Notifications › Timing:

  • Screens: how often screens check for new pings (every 3 seconds in front, 15 minimized).
  • Pop-ups: how long answers like On my way or I'm coming stay up, and the chat preview (10 seconds each).
  • Need help: how often phones are pinged again (every 5 minutes, twice), when to give up if nobody comes (30 minutes) and when to clear it once someone is coming (3 minutes).
  • Front desk jobs: when one nobody answered ends (60 minutes) and when an answered one clears (10 minutes).
  • Phone alerts: at most one chat alert per chat a minute, and how long to keep trying a phone that's off (2 minutes, urgent 5).

A number outside its range turns red and Save stays off until it's fixed. Show a sample answer pop-up shows how long it stays, and Reset timing to defaults puts all of them back. Changes reach every screen within one check. New in 3.9.1.
