A red bar like Front desk: 5 things before Ava leaves means VisitPing found something in Open Dental: a balance, a claim, insurance, no next visit, or treatment not scheduled. Tap it for the list.

Fix it in Open Dental and it clears by itself at the next check, or tap each item when it's handled. All done clears them all. Your name is recorded on each one.

Balance due leaves out what insurance is still expected to pay.
